What’s one thing you know now that would have saved your younger self a lot of pain?
One thing I know now that would have saved my younger self a lot of pain is that not everyone deserves a place in your life, and not every situation deserves your peace of mind.
When we are younger, we sometimes try too hard to please people, hold on to relationships that hurt us, and blame ourselves when things do not work out as planned. With time, I have come to understand that you cannot control how people treat you, but you can choose how you respond and what you allow into your life.
I wish I had learned earlier that saying no is not selfish, walking away is not a sign of weakness, and being alone is far better than losing yourself trying to make others happy.
Life has taught me that protecting your peace, knowing your worth, and trusting the process are essential to happiness. Not every disappointment is a failure; sometimes, it is simply life redirecting you towards something better.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be this: Be kind to others, but never forget to be kind to yourself. You do not have to earn your worth by pleasing everyone. ❤️
