What is the best excuse you have heard lately?

One of the most memorable excuses I’ve heard lately was, “I wasn’t late—I was just giving everyone else a chance to arrive first.” It was delivered with such confidence that it was hard not to laugh.

A great excuse often reveals creativity, humor, or quick thinking, even if it doesn’t always hold up under scrutiny. While honesty is usually the best approach, clever excuses have a way of brightening a conversation and reminding us not to take every situation too seriously.
