Honey Garlic Glazed Beef Strips

Tender beef strips coated in a sweet and savory honey-garlic glaze—this recipe is perfect for a quick dinner or a special weekend treat. The sticky sauce clings to the meat, delivering a burst of flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 500g (1 lb) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds, chopped spring onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef
    • Place the beef strips in a bowl.
    • Add soy sauce, black pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Beef
    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the beef strips in batches, searing each side for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce
    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium.
    • Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in honey and water, bringing the sauce to a gentle simmer.
  4. Combine & Glaze
    • Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
    • Let it cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the beef.
  5. Serve
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions if desired.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables.

Chef’s Tip

For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar or chili flakes to the sauce for a tangy or spicy twist.
