Grilled Lemon Herb Tilapia with Fresh Salad
There’s nothing quite like the fresh, zesty flavor of grilled fish paired with a crisp, colorful salad. This Grilled Lemon Herb Tilapia is light, healthy, and perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The citrus and herbs bring the fish to life, while the salad adds crunch and freshness. Best of all, it comes together in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
For the Tilapia:
- 4 tilapia fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Salad:
- 2 cups mixed salad greens
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Marinate the Fish
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush the marinade generously over both sides of the tilapia fillets. Let them rest for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
2. Grill the Tilapia
Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Cook the tilapia for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the flesh turns opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
3. Prepare the Salad
In a large salad bowl, combine the salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, season with salt and pepper, and toss well to coat.
4. Serve and Enjoy
Place each grilled tilapia fillet on a plate alongside a generous helping of the fresh salad. Garnish with lemon wedges for an extra burst of brightness.
💡 Chef’s Tip: This recipe also works beautifully with cod or haddock. You can even swap the salad for steamed vegetables if you prefer a warmer side dish.
