God Is One – And That’s the Truth I Stand By
I strongly believe that God is one, and I will explain why this belief makes the most sense both spiritually and logically. The idea that there is only one God is not just a religious claim; it is a foundation for unity, truth, and meaning in life.
First, believing in one God brings clarity and consistency. If there were many gods, each with different powers and desires, the world would be in confusion. Who would be in charge? What if they disagreed? But when there is one God, it makes sense that the universe is orderly, balanced, and runs according to one will and one plan. This belief is taught in monotheistic religions like Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. In Islam, for example, the first and most important belief is the Tawheed – the oneness of God. The Qur’an says, “Say: He is Allah, the One” (Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:1). This is a clear and powerful statement that there is only one God, without partners or equals.
Second, one God means one truth. It helps us avoid confusion in worship. If someone prays to many gods, how do they know which one is listening? But if there is only one God, then prayer, guidance, and help all go in one direction. This builds a personal relationship between the human being and the Creator.
Some people argue against this. They say that believing in many gods allows for more freedom or creativity in understanding the universe. Others don’t believe in any god at all and think science explains everything. But even science shows that the universe runs on laws – gravity, motion, energy – and these laws don’t fight each other. They work together in perfect harmony. That suggests one intelligent designer, not a group of gods fighting over control.
Also, the belief in one God brings people together. If we all came from the same Creator, we are all part of one family. This can lead to more peace, respect, and justice in the world. If people believed in many gods for different tribes, races, or nations, it could cause more division.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that God is one, not many. This belief is clear, powerful, and supported by both reason and revelation. It helps us understand our place in the universe and gives us a firm foundation for truth, worship, and unity.
